To develop the fluency, accuracy, pronunciation and the vocabulary of participants when using the English language in their business settings.This course will help you to improve your confidence in using the English language.
By the end of the course participants will:
- Have increased their range of vocabulary.
- Have practised using a range of language to improve their pronunciation, fluency and accuracy in English.
- Understand the meaning of culture in relation to communication in the business environment.
- Have successfully delivered a short presentation to develop their skills.
- Have a toolkit of tips and ideas on how to continue developing their abilities in the English language.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is suitable for participants who have an Intermediate level of accuracy and fluency in English and want to build on these skills. Who use or wish to use English in their business settings. And want to develop new skills in a supportive environment.
This course will run for four weeks with two one hour sessions per week. Held on Saturday and Sunday.
The topics will be covered using individual, pairs and group work combinations in a fun, informative and interesting manner.
We will use role play, case studies, quizzes, video, discussions and presentations.
There will be short coursework assignments to complete each week.
Participants will complete a brief needs analysis at the start of the course.
The main focus of the course will be conversational. The aim will be to identify and use a range of relevant phrases and vocabulary. Some grammar will be covered discussed.
Participants will be enabled and supported in sharing and using their range of skills and knowledge.
Participants will receive written feedback at the end of the course.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED INCLUDE:
Culture and using it for effective communication; language in different forms, building your self-esteem and confidence; fluency and accuracy when speaking; using your skills in negotiations, networking and meetings; formal and informal; working with specialist and generalist colleagues and clients; how to continue developing your skills. Where possible other topics raised during the course will be covered.
